Born from me

 for you.

To put it not very poetically, I have been through hell and back in love. Over and over. I've been through it all. My honest goal for this book was always just for it to reach women and girls who broke the way I did, and to help them feel seen and understood in what they feel. Sometimes it's not about a ten-step healing plan, manifesting, revenge, glowing up, moving on...sometimes it's just about honouring what you have survived.

For so long, I felt so alone in my experiences. When I began sharing my poetry about what I'd endured, I released there were thousands of us, feeling alone, together.

And so, Girl on the Ceiling has been born and brewed from the depths of my soul, for you.

You.

The girl curled over her bed. The girl sobbing in her car. The girl talked over.  The girl pushed around. The girl told she was too much. The girl told she was not quite enough. The girl ignored. The girl discarded. The girl yearning. The girl longing. The girl grasping at her chest desperate to shake the sorrow. The girl who loved too hard and broke even harder. The girl who shattered quietly and ached so loudly.

This book won’t tell you to move on. It won't tell you to get over it and heal. It won’t preach. It won’t pretend. It will ache with you. Long with you. Burn with you. It will put its arms around your heartbreak and whisper, me too. Because if love broke you in a way no one seems to understand, if it tore your heart in two and made you a ghost, the way it did me — this book is here to remind you:

you are not the only girl on the ceiling.

" i was gentle once

but softness

is meat

and they came with knives

not flowers "

Girl on the Ceiling

" i was always his

but he was never fully mine

i stayed like oxygen

he ran like time

i held on like the moon does

in the morning sky

desperate for day

but cast out into the night "
